Michael Richeson Finance Chair |
Mike is married to Charlene and has three children. Mike and Charlene’s youngest child, Kevin, is in the 3rd Grade at St. Mary’s School. Charlene is very active in Music and other ministries at St. Mary’s Church. Mike attended St. James Catholic School in Hopewell, VA through the 8th Grade and then attended Hopewell High School. Mike received a B.S. from Randolph-Macon College and his Masters in Business Administration in Finance from the College of William and Mary. Mike worked in finance and regulatory affairs with Verizon for several years prior to starting his own personal financial planning business in 1996. He is a Certified Financial Planner and has served on the Board and remains an active member of the Central Virginia Chapter of Certified Financial Planners. Mike has been a parishioner at St. Mary’s since 1990 and has been involved in a number of ministries including Music, Human Concerns and as an Adult Leader in the Christian Formation Program. He completed a six-year term on the St. Mary’s Parish Finance Council from 1999-2005. Mike has been Chair of the School Finance Committee and served on the School Board for the past three years (2003-2006). Mike served as the Secretary of the School Board from 2003-2005 and served his first year as Chair of the School Board in 2005-2006. |
Scott Merithew |
Scott and his wife, Mary Virginia, have been actively involved at St. Mary’s since moving to Richmond from Memphis, Tennessee in 1998. This year, all three of their children – Evelyn, Gardner and Ann Curran – are attending the school. The family is looking forward to spending time with the great families they know here as well as making new friends in the coming year. A product of Catholic education, Scott received his undergraduate degree from Christian Brothers University and recently completed his Masters of Pastoral Studies through Loyola University in New Orleans. A Certified Public Accountant, Scott is a tax consultant for Ernst & Young LLP and provides services for clients throughout the Commonwealth. As a member of the St. Mary’s Parish, Scott recognizes the value of providing a Christ-centered education for his children. Scott has been active in a number of capacities including past service on the PTO, School Finance Committee and parish Youth Formation. Excited about the abundant enthusiasm exhibited by the current PTO Board, Scott is expecting great things from the School community in 2005-2006. |
Drew Mugford |
Drew Mugford has been a member of the St. Mary’s Parish since 1971. He attended St. Mary’s School from 3rd through 8th grade and graduated in 1982. He went on to attend Benedictine High School and the University of Virginia. He is an owner of Royal Suzuki–Isuzu and Royal Chevrolet. Drew and his wife Sharon are very active members of the parish and school. They currently have three children who attend St. Mary’s: Taylor – 5th grade, Peyton – 2nd grade, and Harper – Pre–K. |
Ed Largo Legislative Chair |
Ed and his family joined St. Mary’s in 2003, when they relocated to Richmond from New York. He and his wife, Shelley, have two sons: Nate, who is in sixth grade, and Christian, who is in second grade. Ed graduated from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA, with a degree in psychology. He earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Ohio University, Athens, OH, in the field of industrial/organizational psychology. He is a licensed psychologist. Ed has experience teaching at the middle school, high school, college and graduate level. In addition, he has held several positions in corporate and consulting settings. He currently serves as the Director of Research in the Corporate Responsibility department of Philip Morris USA, where he has been employed since 1999. Ed has served as an assistant basketball coach for St. Mary’s. He and his wife also serve on the Board of Directors for Sportable, a local not-for-profit organization committed to helping break down barriers for people with physical disabilities – one sport at a time. When he was in New York, Ed served as a member of his parish’s Pastoral Council and coached several Catholic Youth Organization basketball teams. |
Jim Gould Strategic Planning Chair |
Jim and Lindsay joined the St. Mary’s community in July 2001 after relocating from Northern Virginia. Their children, Emily (5th grade), Anna (3rd grade) and James (Kindergarten) attend St. Mary’s School. Jim is serving his first term as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. He has been active for the past several years in assisting the school with its public relations and marketing activities. Additionally, he has participated in the school’s strategic planning meetings, the Diocese of Richmond’s strategic planning program for Catholic Schools, and St. Mary’s International Baccalaureate program committee. Jim is currently the cofounder of MaxPitch Media, Inc., online publishers of justsell.com. Prior to that, he was a vice president at Ruesch International in Washington, DC. He received a degree from James Madison University in Finance and International Business and an MBA from George Mason University. Jim learned his three “R’s” in Catholic schools and thanks Sister Celinda at Christ the King (reading), Sister Michael at St. Michael’s (‘rithmetic), and Mrs. Connolly at Bishop O’Connell High School (religion). If you travel or have a busy daytime schedule, this committee is a terrific way to volunteer at the school as many of its activities focus on research, analysis and writing. |
