Concussion Policy

Our school acknowledges that concussions are a serious medical injury, and as such, we have implemented procedures to help assist with this process as they return to school.

• Any student diagnosed with a concussion by their health care provider is required to have a Return-to-Learn Plan signed by a healthcare provider. Please ensure that your provider has included any restrictions that need to be met at school, as this plan will instruct us how to proceed with any learning accommodations and physical activity restrictions.
• Upon receipt of the Return-to-Learn Plan, school nurses will work with the student, parents/guardians, administration, and instructional resource teachers to notify classroom teachers of all restrictions, necessary protocols, and classroom accommodations.
